Four of Cups

The Four of Cups tells that we are emotionally withdrawn.  Hurt, betrayed, overwhelmed or just bored with the emotions around us, settling into depression or avoidance is a way of not seeing what you are missing.    Three beautiful cups sit just out of reach, but the figure in the card is not looking at them.  She is also not looking at the overflowing cup sitting behind her, carrying the replenishment that she needs.  Nor is she looking at the stag or the castle, also behind her and waiting for her to come and reap the rewards that they offer.    This is an interesting portrait of what we might be missing when we let ourselves withdraw or focus only on the negative.

Knight of Cups

The Knight of Cups is devoted to emotion.  Cups are a symbol of Water, the West and Emotions. 
This Knight rides a white unicorn, a symbol of purity and innocence.  He is not pursuing the Cup as much as he is connected with it.  The Knight is courtly, romantic and treats everyone with the same courtesy.  This card may be an affirmation of the qualities of someone in your life.  Often acting as a messenger, the Knight may be telling you of good things to come on an emotional level.
I thought it was interesting to draw this card for Valentine's Day.  This Knight might have much to tell you about this day.

The Moon

The Moon represents the hidden, the secret, the mystical.
There is some difference of opinion as to what kind of secrets.  Are they dark knowledge, hidden for a reason?  Or are they gifts from the Goddess, represented by the presence of the Moon, mystical insights full of knowledge?  If you are seeking hidden knowledge or secrets, take a minute and consider carefully what it is that you are seeking and what you will do with what you learn.  Be honest with yourself before you resume your pursuit.

9 of Wands

The 9 of Wands is the picture of vigilance.  The entire group seems to be facing a coming twilight and are prepared for anything.  Wands are a symbol of the South, Fire, Creativity and Courage.  Maintaining integrity and vigilance in unknown circumstances takes courage and commitment.
The 9 of Wands can signal the near completion of a difficult task, but there is still at least one more obstacle to overcome.  This is the time to persist and not be drawn off course by the difficulty.

an unplanned absence

Sorry to have been gone for so long.  An accident in early January sort of slowed me down for a while. 
I was playing with the Shadowscapes Tarot this evening and suddenly felt inspired to get back to sharing the deck with you.  It is a gorgeous deck.  Watch for a card tomorrow.

The World

The World is a card of success, the completion of a cycle, a major task, perhaps even the end of an era of your life.  Celebrations and a sense of freedom accompany The World.  What comes next may be sharing your accomplishments in the form of teaching or sharing with others, or enjoying your new sense of your place in the world and how you fit into everything.
The World is also the last of the major arcana and as such is the completion of the journey of discovery of The Fool.
